Privacy Policy

Ado is a money assistant that reads your bank data and messages you on WhatsApp or by text when something needs your attention. Ado is operated by Whelp ("we", "us"). This policy explains what we collect, how we use it and the choices you have.
What we collect
- Your mobile number, which you verify with a one-time code, and your settings: message channel, time zone, quiet hours and low-balance cushion.
- Your consent records: the exact consent text you agreed to and when.
- Bank data you choose to connect through Plaid: account names and types, the last 4 digits of account numbers, balances, transactions, recurring payments and income, and credit card and loan details. Access is read-only.
- Messages you exchange with Ado on WhatsApp or SMS, and their delivery status.
- Billing emails you forward to Ado, once that feature is available.
How we use it
- To spot things that need a decision (bills due, low balance, price increases, duplicate subscriptions, trials ending) and message you about them.
- To answer your questions about your accounts, bills and spending.
- To act on your short replies, such as reminding you later or muting an alert.
- To keep the service secure, prevent abuse and fix problems.
Ado cannot move money, pay bills or make changes at your bank. We do not sell your personal information and do not use it for advertising.
AI processing
To understand your replies and answer your questions, the relevant parts of your messages and bank data are processed by an AI service provider acting on our behalf. It only receives what is needed to answer you.
Who we share it with
We share data only with service providers that run parts of Ado for us, under contracts that limit how they can use it: Plaid (bank connections), WhatsApp messaging providers including Meta, our SMS provider, our AI provider, and our hosting and database providers. We may also disclose information if the law requires it.
Plaid's handling of your bank credentials and data is described in the Plaid End User Privacy Policy (plaid.com/legal).
Text messaging (SMS)
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging opt-in data and consent are not shared with any third parties, except the providers that deliver our messages.
You can opt out at any time by replying STOP. Reply HELP for help. Message and data rates may apply. Message frequency varies.
Security
Data travels over encrypted connections. Bank access tokens are encrypted at rest, and Ado never sees or stores your bank login. Messages never include full account numbers.
Keeping and deleting your data
You can disconnect a bank at any time in Settings; Ado then stops receiving its data. You can delete your account in Settings: messages stop immediately, your bank connections are removed, and your data is permanently erased within 30 days.
Your choices
- Change your channel, quiet hours or low-balance cushion in Settings.
- Reply PAUSE to pause alerts, RESUME to turn them back on, or STOP to opt out.
- Ask us for a copy of your data or for deletion by email.
Children
Ado is not for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect data from children.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date on this page, and tell you by message if the change is significant.
